Become a member
The Society's core objective is to ensure that Shetland's maritime history and traditional skills are promoted, protected and preserved. This objective is partly achieved by sailing Vaila Mae two or three times a week during the summer months. During these sailing trips the skills of the crew are honed and new members are taught how to sail a traditional Shetland sixareen.
If you would like to become a core member of Vaila Mae crew then why not join our society? To become a member costs just £10 per year. Membership commences upon receipt of your fee and membership dues are then renewed on the 1st August each subsequent year.
